At approximately 1:13p today, multiple Jackson County Fire District 3 (JCFD3), Medford Fire (MFD), and Jackson County Sheriffs Office units (JCSO) responded to a mill fire callout in White City.
The incident is at the Murphy Veneer Plant, located on the 7900 block of 11th Street.
ECSO 911 dispatchers received a number of calls from passerby’s stating they saw large flames coming from the back of the plant.
Shortly after the first fire units arrived on scene, command requested a second-alarm callout, which brought in additional fire crews to assist.
JCSO has closed some streets around the plant currently (1:30p).
Update: Active firefight has concluded, and cleanup has started. A fire investigator is now on scene.
