At approximately 5:08p this evening, multiple personnel from Jackson County Fire District 5 (JCFD5), Mercy Flights, and Oregon State Police (OSP) responded to a reported serious crash, with rollover on northbound I5 near the N. Mountain Ave overpass.
Upon arrival, JCFD5 crews began stabilizing one patient in preparation of extraction. One northbound lane on the freeway was briefly blocked by fire trucks and OSP vehicles as JCFD5 firefighters rescued the injured individual.
Once the patient was free from the wreckage, JCFD5 crews assisted Mercy paramedics in the final steps to get ready to be transported. The victim was taken to a nearby Medford area hospital for treatment.
The crash is currently under investigation, and the condition of the victim is unknown at this time.
