At approximately 6:03a this morning, multiple Medford Fire (MFD), Medford Police (MPD), and Mercy units were dispatched to the area of Poplar Drive and Morrow Rd for a reported serious traffic collision.

The City of Medford says that as of 9:00a, the intersection is still closed as authorities are on scene investigating the incident. There are also streets being impacted around the closed intersection as well. Avoid the area if possible until the scene is reopened.

We have learned that a Ford Expedition collided with a full size truck after one of the vehicles ran a red light. This was a high impact crash due to the speed and the crash also damaged a third, unoccupied vehicle that was parked nearby.

The driver of the Expedition was trapped in the vehicle and required extraction by a MFD Heavy Rescue unit. A MFD HAZMAT truck was also dispatched due to fuel leaking from the crash.

In total, two patients were transported to Medford hospitals. At this time, their conditions are unknown.

Final Update: The intersection of Poplar Drive and Morrow Road as well as surrounding areas are now open.
