Armed Student Taken Into Custody During Black and Blue Bowl

Medford School District provided official information about an incident that occurred at the Black and Blue Bowl on Friday night.

During the game, Medford Police learned there was an armed student at Spiegelberg Stadium. Within minutes of receiving the information, police had the student in custody. Weapons are not allowed on campus, both during school hours and at school sponsored events.

At no time was anyone threatened or harmed. Police let school personnel know the student shared he had no intention of harming others.

The Medford School District reports had every school resource officer at the game, in addition to additional security personnel.

Officials stress that student and staff safety is top priority. School staff say they appreciate the quick response of law enforcement.
