The Oregon State Police (OSP) is releasing additional information related to the multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 5 on October 19, 2022.
OSP says the initial estimates of involved vehicles have not changed. Total numbers of involved vehicles may not ever be fully known.
Upon dropping the cable barrier to allow first responders ingress/egress, many drivable vehicles within the crash zone drove over the barrier and left the scene.
4 subjects were transported to area hospitals, one in serious condition.
The name of the single fatality is being released: Phillip Frye (29) of Portland.
No additional information was available at this time.
