Southbound Interstate 5 is closed at milepost 216, the OR 228 Halsey-Brownsville exit.
Traffic is being detoured at the OR 228 exit to OR 99E.
Multiple crashes have occurred in heavy fog. The closure is expected to continue through the late morning. OSP reports there has been at least one confirmed fatality due to incident.
Travelers should drive with caution, take alternate routes, and watch for emergency responders.
