ODF and other agencies are currently responding to a fire northeast of Howard Prairie Lake and Dead Indian Memorial Road.

It’s estimated to be a quarter-acre in size.
Numerous engines, a Type 2 helicopter, Type 3 helicopter and Helitack crew, an air attack plane, two bulldozers and a water tender are responding, along with resources from U.S. Forest Service- Rogue River- Siskiyou National Forest, including a Type 1 helicopter.
All resources are en route, aside from a Type 3 helicopter, which just arrived. It’ll be dropping off an ODF Helitack crew to start working on the ground and conducting water bucket drops from the sky.
Currently there are no evacuations in place.
FINAL UPDATE: ODF reports that firefighters are making excellent progress on the Beaver Dam Fire. The fire is almost completely plumbed with fire hose and the forward progression of the fire has been stopped. Currently there is no threat to the community.
