On Sunday, August 7th at approximately 11:31a, the Illinois Valley Fire Department (IVFD) and ODF Southwest Oregon District, responded to a two story structure fire with a quarter acre wildland fire on Kerby St, near the powerline Rd in Josephine County.

Officials say a second alarm was activated, due to the fire size and potential increase in the fires movement. Rural Metro Fire – Josephine County and Grants Pass Fire Rescue also responded.
As fire crews worked the incident, and controlled both the structure and grass fire, the second alarm was canceled.
Officials also said that Rural Metro units moved up to cover the district during the firefight as a precaution.
As the fire was mopped up and fire personnel were cleared, ODF remained on scene for an extended period of time to investigate.
There were no reported injuries and no additional information was available at this time.
