A large power outage is currently affecting nearly 3700 customers in the Northgate, Westside, and Northwest areas of Medford.

Pacific Power crews are enroute and assessing the situation. There is currently no estimate to restore service. The cause of the outage is unknown at this time.
This is also affecting a number of major intersections in the area, along with the Rogue Valley Mall and Northgate Marketplace.
12:50p UPDATE: Nearly 6000 customers are without power now. Estimated time of power restoration is currently 10p.

1:30p UPDATE: The majority of those affected by the outage now may get services restored by 7p tonight.
3p UPDATE: All City of Medford facilities (including Jackson Pool, but excluding MPD & MFD) are closed due to the power outage. Currently, approximately 5200 customers are without power.
4:30p UPDATE: Pacific Power crews continue to work on the outages. The cause has now been listed as “wildlife.”
5p UPDATE: It’s 103 currently at #MFR. 5000+ residents are without power as Pacific Power personnel work on major outage. Reminder that there is a free cooling shelter available to everyone, and their pets, at the Central Library in downtown Medford. Please check on at-risk/elderly neighbors.
6p UPDATE: Pacific Power continues to work on the outages. There are currently just over 3600 customers still without service, down from the original outage estimate of nearly 6000.

7p UPDATE: With 3600+ customers still without power, Pacific Power is now estimating restoration of services by 8p.
7:30p UPDATE: 3600+ customers still without power, Pacific Power is now estimating restoration of services by 11:30p.
