On July 8th, 2022 at about 10:37 p.m., officers responded to a residence in the 2000-block of Lawnridge Street, for a reported shooting. A neighbor called 911 after hearing a gunshot followed by a female yelling.
Upon arrival, officers were met by the victim who sustained a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment, and she is in stable condition.
Joseph Stephens came out of the residence and was taken into custody. The investigation revealed this was stemmed from a domestic dispute between Stephens and his wife. Stephens was lodged at the Jackson County Jail by the investigating Detective.
