Jackson County Search and Rescue Airlifts Hiker to Safety

Jackson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) Search and Rescue (SAR) saved a hiker with medical conditions deep in the Soda Mountain wilderness this 4th of July.

SAR crews hiked throughout the night after receiving a call for help. The crews located the subject who was unable to walk out of the wilderness under his own power. Due to his health conditions, a helicopter responded and airlifted him to an awaiting ambulance.

JCSO was assisted by Brim Aviation and Ashland Fire and Rescue. No additional information is available at this time.
