Earlier today at approximately 2:15p Illinois Valley Fire District, Rural Metro Fire – Josephine County, Oregon Department of Forestry, American Medical Response, Grants Pass Fire Rescue and PP&L responded to a fully involved structure fire at the 32000 block on Hwy 199 just north of O’Brien.
Rural Metro responed to the scene and Grants Pass Fire & Rescue covered the fire district.
Fourteen units worked the fire and mop-up for just over 3 hours.
There was some spread to the wildland, which was quickly contained by ODF.
Two firefighters were transported with heat related issues, by AMR, for further evaluation.
The fire is under investigation at this time. Units will be on scene for mop up. The scene will be monitored during the night. No additional information was provided at this time by officials.
