Preparations Underway for Eastside “Mega-Corridor” Project

While construction will officially begin in Spring 2023, contractors are currently relocating utilities which may impact traffic in the area between Hillcrest and Delta Waters along Foothill Road.

Traffic delays, which may last up to 20 minutes, can be expected in the area Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. as contractor crews begin to prepare for the Foothill Road Improvement Project.

The Foothill Road Improvement Project will upgrade Foothill Road between Hillcrest and Delta Waters. The number of travel lanes within the section of Foothill Road will increase from two lanes to five, including a center turn lane.

Other improvements include new bike lanes, sidewalks, storm drains, street lighting, retaining walls, and landscaping. The project is being supported through a $15.5 million grant from the federal government.
