Schools Briefly Placed in “Lock Out” During Arrest of Felon

This morning at approximately 7:00 AM, Grants Pass Police Detectives and Officers served a search warrant on NW Blossom Drive in Grants Pass.

For the safety of the community, nearby schools were temporarily placed into “Lock Out” status, and vehicle traffic was routed around the area.

The incident was quickly resolved without injury to anyone involved. Schools and traffic returned to normal status after only a short interruption.

The search warrant resulted in the arrest of Matthew Mongomery, a 53-year-old resident, for being a Felon in Possession of a Firearm. Montgomery was lodged at the Josephine County Jail.
