JCSO just concluded two Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) funded High Visibility Enforcement grant campaigns.
The first was a Labor Day DUII blitz that ran from August 18 through September 6. During that period, JCSO deputies worked five additional overtime shifts, conducted 36 stops, issued 33 citations, and three warnings.
No DUII arrests were made while working these shifts.
The second campaign was for Child Vehicle Restraint Safety Awareness and ran from August 23 through September 5.
During that period, JCSO deputies worked four additional overtime shifts, conducted 13 stops, wrote 11 citations, and gave two warnings. We also conducted a safety belt survey and out of 100 drivers, 84% were found to be wearing their seatbelts.
These extra patrols were funded by US Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) grants.
