Nick Nelson – Founder, President, Editor-in-Chief
Nick established Medford Alert in 2011 with a vision to deliver news and information from a local perspective. For over 14 years, he has dedicated and volunteered thousands of hours to providing unparalleled news coverage, for the community. In 2025, Nick closed Medford Alert and launched a new non-profit organization, Medford Alert News, solidifying his commitment to unbiased, community-driven journalism.
A longtime resident of the Rogue Valley, Nick raised his family here and is passionate about giving back. He’s spearheaded numerous fundraising efforts for local charities and organizations, leveraging the Medford Alert News digital platforms to make a real world difference. When he’s not working, Nick enjoys playing basketball, hiking, and staying connected to the community he’s called home for over 30 years.

James Bozeman – Board Member
James has built both his family and career in the community he calls home. A longtime artist and small business owner, he has spent years contributing to the local creative and economic landscape through his work and community involvement. His experience balancing entrepreneurship with family life gives him a grounded perspective on the values of hard work, collaboration, and integrity—qualities that make him a respected and valued member of the Board of Directors.

Matt has a longstanding career in government service, and brings a deep understanding of public policy, community engagement, and leadership to the Board of Directors. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Matt is an active supporter of local youth athletics and a lifelong soccer enthusiast, reflecting his commitment to teamwork, community spirit, and the next generation of local families.

Eric is a proud community member who is raising his family locally and dedicating his career to education. Outside the classroom, Eric is passionate about coaching youth basketball, where he fosters teamwork, discipline, and confidence in young athletes—qualities that mirror his approach to service on the Board of Directors.
