MEDFORD, Ore. (Nov. 4, 2026) — The City of Medford is inviting residents, business owners and other community members to share their ideas about the future of the city’s Fruit Packing District during an upcoming public open house.

The open house is scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 5, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the First Floor Innovation Room at Medford City Hall, located at 411 W. Eighth St.

The meeting is part of the planning process for the Fruit Packing District Area Wide Plan, an initiative intended to help guide future investment, redevelopment and infrastructure improvements while supporting existing businesses, property owners and residents.

The study area generally follows South Riverside Avenue from 11th Street south to Stewart Avenue, with portions extending west to South Grape Street.

During the planning process, officials and project partners will examine potential future land uses, transportation and infrastructure improvements, redevelopment opportunities for key properties, and strategies to attract investment and secure funding for the area.

Community input is an important part of the process, and Thursday’s open house will provide an opportunity for attendees to learn more about the project and share their perspectives on the district’s future.

The project is funded through a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Brownfields Assessment Grant awarded to the Rogue Valley Council of Governments, with assistance from consulting firm Stantec.

The resulting plan will provide recommendations to help inform future decisions. The study itself will not change property ownership or immediately alter existing zoning regulations.
