GRANTS PASS, Ore. (Aug. 13, 2026) — Cyclists from across the country will converge on Southern Oregon later this month as Cycle Oregon’s signature Rally event brings a five-day, multi-route cycling experience to Grants Pass, Jacksonville and Ashland.
Rally 2026 is scheduled for Aug. 28 through Sept. 2, with riders using Grants Pass and Jacksonville as base camps while exploring the region’s back roads, river corridors, vineyards, forests and historic trails. Registration closes Monday, Aug. 17.
The event will feature daily road and gravel routes ranging from approximately 33 to 77 miles. Depending on route selections, riders will cover between 188 and 300 miles during the week.
Organizers are highlighting Southern Oregon’s lesser-known destinations, including vineyard-dotted valleys, forested ridgelines and the Applegate Trail, the historic southern route of the Oregon Trail.
Five days on the road
The first two riding days, Saturday, Aug. 29, and Sunday, Aug. 30, will begin and end in Grants Pass, with riders able to choose from main, long and gravel route options.
On Monday, Aug. 31, riders will travel from Grants Pass to Jacksonville. Tuesday’s route will take cyclists through Jacksonville and Ashland before the event concludes Wednesday, Sept. 2, with a ride from Jacksonville back to Grants Pass.
Each evening, riders will return to camp for live music, local wine and beer and community gatherings around the Main Stage.
The event will be based at Riverside Park in Grants Pass before moving to Jacksonville and ultimately returning to Grants Pass.
“Cycle Oregon is built on the idea that the best way to experience our state’s diverse landscapes is from the seat of a bicycle,” said Chris DiStefano, Cycle Oregon’s marketing and communications representative. “Southern Oregon is a dream destination for bicycling, and starting Rally 2026 in Grants Pass puts us right in the heart of its most iconic backroads and river corridors.”
DiStefano said the organization is also focused on supporting communities through grants, youth education programs and cycling advocacy throughout Oregon.
“We’re thrilled to partner with Grants Pass — there’s so much exciting momentum for cycling here, and we’re honored to be a part of it,” DiStefano said.
Growing cycling community
The Rally comes as Grants Pass continues to build its reputation as a destination for cyclists.
The community celebrated the opening of the Dollar Mountain Trail in November 2025. The mountain biking system currently features more than 15 miles of trails, with additional development planned.
Grants Pass is also scheduled to host the USA BMX Gold Cup Finals Northwest 2026 in September, adding another major cycling event to the community’s calendar.
Cycle Oregon is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting bicycling throughout Oregon through multi-day riding events, community grants, youth education programs and cycling advocacy. Its annual events include Rally, Gravel and Joyride.
Local residents and businesses along the Rally routes are encouraged to come out and support riders throughout the week.
Registration for Rally 2026 remains open through Monday, Aug. 17.
