WHITE CITY, Ore. (Jul. 20, 2026) — A 54-year-old Eagle Point man was killed Saturday evening after his motorcycle crashed into a guardrail along Highway 140 east of Medford, according to the Oregon State Police.
Troopers responded to the single-vehicle crash at approximately 7:05 p.m. on July 18 near milepost 6 on Highway 140.
A preliminary investigation found that Brian Jay Moore, 54, of Eagle Point, was riding a black Yamaha motorcycle westbound when, for reasons that remain under investigation, the motorcycle left the roadway and struck a guardrail.
Moore was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to Oregon State Police, witnesses reported the motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed immediately before the crash.
Highway 140 was impacted for approximately three hours while the Oregon State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit investigated the scene.
The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Jackson County Fire District and the Oregon Department of Transportation assisted with the response.
