WHITE CITY, Ore. (Jul. 13, 2026) — Firefighters are battling a third-alarm fire Monday afternoon at a biomass facility in White City, prompting road closures and a large emergency response.
According to Jackson County Fire District 3, crews were dispatched to a pile fire at the Biomass facility shortly after 2:30 p.m. on July 13. The incident was initially upgraded to a second alarm as additional resources were requested.
At 2:49 p.m., fire officials escalated the response again, upgrading the incident to a third alarm, bringing in even more personnel and equipment to assist with firefighting operations.
Officials have closed Avenue G between Agate Road and Highway 62 while crews work at the scene. Motorists are being asked to avoid the area, with traffic being rerouted to Antelope Road and Linn Road.
Fire officials urged the public to stay clear of the area to allow emergency responders to operate safely and efficiently.
No information on injuries, damage estimates or the cause of the fire has been released.

Crews remain actively engaged with suppression efforts. Engines, an aerial ladder truck, multiple heavy brush and brush units are being utilized.
The fire is currently contained to the vegetation piles. A wind shift has driven smoke to the south, creating visibility challenges. Avenue G remains closed between Agate Road and Highway 62 to allow hose across the roadway to connect to hydrants.
We expect to be on scene for an extended time.
