GRANTS PASS, Ore. (Jun. 2, 2026) — A 22-year-old man was killed Tuesday morning in a two-vehicle crash that caused one of the vehicles to catch fire on Highland Avenue in Grants Pass, authorities said.
The Grants Pass Police Department’s 911 Dispatch Center received reports of the crash in the 2700 block of Highland Avenue at approximately 8:15 a.m. on June 2. Callers reported that two vehicles had collided in the roadway and that one of the vehicles caught fire following the impact.
Before emergency responders arrived, bystanders assisted the occupants involved in the crash, police said.
One driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators later identified him as Gabriel Davis, 22.
According to the Grants Pass Police Department, an investigation by detectives and a crash reconstructionist determined that Davis’ vehicle crossed into oncoming traffic and collided with another vehicle.
The two occupants of the second vehicle were transported to Three Rivers Medical Center with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
