MEDFORD, Ore. (May. 9, 2026) — Thousands of visitors are expected to spend Mother’s Day weekend exploring outdoor festivals across Southern Oregon as downtown Medford and Central Point host separate events celebrating local artists, food vendors, makers and small businesses.
In downtown Central Point, the “Made in Southern Oregon” event is bringing together regional creators and artisans Saturday for a full-day street fair along Pine Street between First and Seventh streets. The event runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and features dozens of booths showcasing handmade and locally produced goods from across the region.
Organizers say the event is designed to highlight the diversity of Southern Oregon craftsmanship and entrepreneurship. Vendors are offering handcrafted artwork, leather goods, woodworking, welding creations, jewelry, gourmet food products, beverages, farm goods and other locally made items.
The festival transforms several blocks of downtown Central Point into a pedestrian-friendly marketplace, allowing visitors to meet local makers and shop directly from small businesses and artisans.
City officials and organizers have promoted the event as an opportunity to support local commerce while showcasing the creativity and talent found throughout Southern Oregon communities.
Meanwhile, downtown Medford is hosting the 21st annual Art in Bloom festival, one of the region’s largest spring arts celebrations. The Mother’s Day weekend event is taking place outdoors throughout Vogel Plaza, Lithia Commons and portions of Main Street.
Festival hours are scheduled from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
Art in Bloom features more than 50 selected artists and horticulturists from across the West Coast exhibiting and selling their work during the two-day festival. Organizers describe the event as a celebration of fine art, flowers, food and community.
The festival includes live entertainment, food vendors, chalk art displays, children’s art activities and interactive attractions designed for families and visitors of all ages. Wildlife Safari and youth entrepreneur exhibits are also part of this year’s event lineup.
The annual festival has become a longtime Mother’s Day weekend tradition in downtown Medford, drawing residents and tourists to the city center during the spring season. Organizers say the event not only highlights regional artists and horticultural displays but also provides an economic boost for downtown businesses, restaurants and vendors.
Both events come as Southern Oregon communities continue to emphasize locally made products, outdoor gatherings and support for small businesses and artists. Warm spring weather and Mother’s Day weekend are expected to increase attendance at both festivals throughout Saturday and Sunday.
