Crash Closes Stewart Avenue in SW Medford; Drivers Urged to Avoid Area

MEDFORD, Ore. (Mar. 18, 2026) — A crash involving multiple vehicles prompted authorities to close a section of Stewart Avenue in Medford on Wednesday afternoon, officials said.

Emergency crews responded to the scene around 2:15 p.m. near the intersection of Stewart Avenue and Newtown Street. The roadway was shut down in both directions as first responders worked at the scene.

Officials have not yet released details on the number of vehicles involved or whether there were any injuries.

Drivers are being advised to avoid the area and seek alternate routes while the closure remains in effect. Authorities said additional information will be released as it becomes available.
