

MEDFORD, Ore. (Mar. 2, 2026) — Fire crews knocked down a working structure fire Monday evening at a home in the 2200 block of Fairbanks Avenue, authorities said.
The fire was first reported around 5:58 p.m., prompting multiple units to respond to the confirmed structure fire. Crews were actively working the scene and asked the public to avoid the area to allow emergency responders space to operate safely.
As of 7:15 p.m., the fire had been knocked down, with crews remaining on scene to extinguish hotspots and conduct overhaul operations.
The garage sustained heavy fire damage, with flames extending into the kitchen area of the home, officials said. No injuries were reported.
Investigators are working with the occupants and fire crews to determine the origin and cause of the fire.
Nearby roadways that had been closed during the emergency response were beginning to reopen Monday evening as crews continued operations.
