Fire Displaces Woman, Pets on Haven Street Near Downtown Medford

MEDFORD, Ore. (Mar. 2, 2026)— Fire crews quickly contained a working structure fire Sunday morning in the 300 block of Haven Street, just west of downtown, preventing injuries and limiting damage, authorities said.

Shortly after 9:30 a.m. on March 1, Emergency Communications of Southern Oregon ECSO 911 dispatched multiple crews to a confirmed structure fire in the residential neighborhood.

Engine 12 was first to arrive and reported a working fire in a detached garage that had been converted into an apartment. Officials said the blaze is believed to have started along an exterior wall before extending into the attic space.

Firefighters were able to quickly knock down the flames and assist occupants out of the structure safely.

One female occupant and her pets were displaced as a result of the fire. The American Red Cross is providing assistance.

No injuries were reported.

A deputy fire marshal is investigating the cause of the fire. Jackson County Fire District 3 assisted on the call.
