PROSPECT, Ore. (Jan. 3, 2026)— More than 450 Pacific Power customers in northern Jackson County were without electricity Friday following two separate power outages reported in the early morning and late morning hours.
The largest outage occurred near Prospect, where approximately 400 customers lost power shortly before 1:40 a.m. on Jan. 3, according to Pacific Power. The outage was first reported at 1:39 a.m. in the 97536 ZIP code area and was attributed to a substation problem. Utility officials said crews have been notified and are assessing the situation, but an estimated time of restoration had not yet been determined as of Friday afternoon.
A second outage was reported near Eagle Point and Brownsboro, affecting about 55 customers in the 97524 ZIP code. That outage was first reported at 10:07 a.m. Friday. Pacific Power said the cause is under investigation, and crews have been notified. Power is expected to be restored before 1:30 p.m. on Jan. 3.
In total, approximately 456 customers were without power across the two outages. Pacific Power encourages customers experiencing outages to report them directly and to avoid downed power lines, which should be treated as energized and dangerous.
Updates will be provided as restoration efforts continue.
Update: Power has been fully restored to previously impacted customers.
