
MEDFORD, Ore. (Nov 23, 2025)— An investigation is underway after an officer-involved shooting early Sunday involving an armed, suicidal subject, authorities said.
Police responded early Sunday morning to a report of an armed individual in crisis in the 3600 block of Mallard Lane. During the encounter, shots were fired. The subject was taken to a local hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.
No officers were injured.
As standard procedure, the involved officer has been placed on paid administrative leave. The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office is leading the investigation to ensure an independent review of the incident.
Officials said the scene on Mallard Lane (as of 8:25a) remains an active investigation. Further details have not yet been released.
