Bend, Oregon- Bend Police are continuing to investigate a shooting that occurred Wednesday evening in the parking lot of Safeway, leaving an 18-year-old man injured.
Officers responded around 6:07 p.m. on Oct. 29 to reports of an assault and gunfire in the 2600 block of NE Highway 20. When they arrived, they found the Bend resident suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken by Bend Fire & Rescue to St. Charles Bend with serious injuries.
Police said Friday the victim’s injuries were non-life-threatening and he has since been treated and released. Investigators believe the shooting was a targeted incident.
The suspect has not been located, and no arrests have been made. Detectives continue to investigate and are releasing limited details at this time.
Authorities said there is no ongoing threat to the public but asked community members to continue avoiding the area while the investigation continues.
