Medford, Oregon- Dachshunds will dash for glory Friday, Sept. 19, as Medford Parks and Recreation hosts its first-ever “Doxin-Dash,” a free community event at Walkabout Brewing Company.
The event runs from 6 to 9 p.m. at 921 Mason Way and welcomes all well-behaved dogs, not just dachshunds.
“After seeing how much joy Corgi-Con brought to the community, we thought, why stop there?” Recreation Supervisor Sandi Sherman said. “The first-ever Doxin-Dash at Walkabout Brewing is our way of spreading the fun to another lovable breed, and we can’t wait to see if it becomes as big a hit as Corgi-Con.”
The evening will feature a costume contest and opportunities to meet new two- and four-legged friends. Walkabout Brewing and local food trucks will offer food and beverages for purchase.
Attendees will receive a pint glass, dog treats and a ball while supplies last. Event-themed stickers will be available for $1, and donations will be accepted to support future community events.
