Grants Pass, Oregon- A Grants Pass man was arrested Sunday night after police said he attacked a woman who suffered a serious neck wound.
Grants Pass Police officers responded around 8:15 p.m. to the 1000 block of SW Foundry for a report of an assault between residents on the same property. When officers arrived, they found a neighbor giving emergency care to a 38-year-old woman with a severe cut to her neck, police said.
Officers continued lifesaving efforts until Grants Pass Fire/Rescue and American Medical Response arrived. The woman was first treated at Three Rivers Medical Center before being transferred to Rogue Regional Medical Center in Medford.
Police identified the suspect as Jeremy Johnson, 46, who was taken into custody at the scene. Detectives with the Grants Pass Police Department later lodged Johnson in the Josephine County Jail on charges of attempted murder, first-degree assault and unlawful use of a weapon.
Authorities said the case remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Grants Pass Major Crimes Unit and refer to case 2025-30171.
The department thanked the Oregon State Police and the Josephine County District Attorney’s Office for their assistance.
All suspects are believed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law
