Dog-of-the-Week: “Abigail” is Smart, Playful, and Ready for a New Home

Phoenix, Oregon- The Medford Alert News Dog-of-the-Week from Jackson County Animal Services is Abigail, a 4-year-old Australian Cattle Dog and Terrier mix described as intuitive, affectionate and playful.

With medium energy and a love for adventure, Abigail enjoys both mental and physical stimulation followed by quiet cuddle time. She knows basic commands such as “sit” and is eager to learn more, especially when treats are involved. Staff note she is polite and gentle when taking food.

Abigail walks well on leash and loves exploring. While she has made some dog friends, she prefers human companionship and would need to meet any other dogs in the home before adoption. She is best suited for a household without cats, chickens or other small animals.

Because she can be nervous around cars, snacks are recommended to make road trips easier. She will also need a secure yard and supervision outdoors, as she has a history of sneaking off on solo adventures.

“Abigail is smart, sweet, and ready to be someone’s loyal sidekick,” Jackson County Animal Services said in a release.

Those interested in meeting Abigail can visit Jackson County Animal Services in Phoenix.

Adoption means embarking on a shared adventure filled with learning, unforgettable experiences, and the warm companionship of these lively dogs. The shelter encourages individuals interested in meeting and potentially adopting these lovable animals to reach out. Contact the shelter at 541-774-6654, press 5 for adoptions, and start the process of welcoming these sweethearts into your loving home.
