Crews Battle Early Morning Fire at Vacant NW Medford Home

Medford, Oregon- Fire crews responded to a blaze that tore through a vacant house early Wednesday morning in north Medford, authorities said.

The Medford Fire Department said crews were dispatched shortly after 1:30 a.m. to the 800 block of North Narragan Street. Firefighters arrived to find heavy flames consuming a boarded-up residential structure and spreading to a property line fence.

Crews worked to ensure the building was clear of occupants and successfully prevented the fire from reaching neighboring homes, officials said. No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by deputy fire marshals.

The Medford Fire Department was assisted at the scene by Jackson County Fire District 3, Mercy Flights Inc., Medford police and Emergency Communications of Southern Oregon.
