Single-Vehicle Crash on Highway 99 Kills Grants Pass Woman

Near Rogue River, Oregon- A Grants Pass woman died Tuesday afternoon in a single-vehicle crash on Highway 99 in Jackson County, authorities said.

Oregon State Police said troopers responded to the crash at about 2:50 p.m. near milepost 8. A preliminary investigation found that a southbound Ford Ranger, driven by 59-year-old Katrina Ann Knight of Grants Pass, left the roadway for unknown reasons, rolled and struck a utility pole.

Knight was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.

The highway was partially closed for about an hour during the on-scene investigation. The Oregon Department of Transportation assisted state police.

The case remains under investigation by the Oregon State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit, which specializes in fatal and critical injury crash investigations across the state.
