


Agate Lake, Oregon- A search for a missing kayaker at Agate Lake ended Sunday morning when divers recovered the body of a 27-year-old Medford man, according to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.
Emergency Communications of Southern Oregon received a 911 call at 7:48 p.m. Saturday reporting that the man had fallen into the lake while kayaking without a life jacket.
Deputies with the sheriff’s office’s marine patrol responded to the lake along with crews from Fire District 3 and Fire District 4. Rescuers searched the water until after 10 p.m. but were unable to locate the man.
The search resumed Sunday morning with the sheriff’s office marine units and Search and Rescue dive team members. Deputies from the Klamath County Sheriff’s Office also joined the effort. At 7:34 a.m., divers located the man’s body.
Authorities said his name is being withheld out of respect for his family. No further details have been released.
