Bend, Oregon- The Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office confirmed Monday that search and rescue divers have recovered the body of a second victim from the Deschutes River, following a weekend incident near Dillon Falls west of Bend.
According to officials, the female victim was located just after 11:00 a.m. beneath Dillon Falls. Her recovery brings the confirmed toll to two deceased and three survivors, with one person—an adult male—still unaccounted for.
The multi-agency search effort remains active along the river corridor between the Dillon Falls Day Use Area and the Aspen Day Use Area. A human remains detection K-9 was again deployed Monday as part of the ongoing effort, alongside boats, drones, swiftwater rescue teams, and ground crews.
The incident began Saturday, July 19, when a 9-1-1 call was received at 2:57 p.m. reporting that six individuals had gone over Dillon Falls. Since then, Deschutes County Search and Rescue has led recovery operations with support from Bend Fire & Rescue, Bend Police Department, and AirLink.
Authorities have not released the identities of those involved. The investigation remains ongoing.
