Medford, Oregon- Authorities are responding to an officer-involved shooting at Hawthorne Park, officials said Friday.
According to initial reports, the officers involved were not injured during the incident. The suspect was transported to a Medford-area hospital for treatment. No additional details on the suspect’s condition were immediately released.
A significant law enforcement presence remains at the park as officers continue their investigation. Authorities are urging the public to avoid the area until further notice.
According to the Medford Police Department, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department will assume the full investigation of the incident.
