Pacific Power to Host Wildfire Prevention Forum in South Medford

Medford, Oregon- Pacific Power will host a public forum Tuesday evening in Medford to discuss its efforts to protect customers and communities from the threat of wildfire.

The event will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn, located at 1000 Welcome Way.

Company representatives will provide details about Pacific Power’s wildfire mitigation plan in Oregon. Topics will include system strengthening efforts, advanced weather monitoring, enhanced vegetation management practices, safety settings for wildfire season, and emergency de-energization procedures during active wildfires.

The forum will also explain how Public Safety Power Shutoffs work, a precautionary measure used when wildfire risk makes it necessary to turn off power to protect public safety.
