Medford City Council Schedules Two Town Halls on Emergency Preparedness

Medford, Oregon- Medford residents are invited to attend two upcoming City Council Town Halls focused on emergency preparedness and community safety. The events will provide an opportunity for the public to engage directly with City Councilors, the Mayor, and city staff regarding the city’s emergency response plans and strategies.

The first town hall will be hosted by Councilors from Wards 1 and 3, along with the Mayor, on Wednesday, April 30, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the Prescott Room, Medford Police Headquarters, located at 219 S. Ivy St.

The second town hall will be held on Thursday, May 15, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the Smullin Health Education Center, Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center, 2825 E. Barnett Rd. It will be hosted by Councilors from Wards 2 and 4 and the Mayor.

Officials say these events aim to strengthen communication between residents and city leadership. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and learn more about how the city prepares for and responds to emergencies.

Past town halls have addressed a range of topics, including homelessness, transportation infrastructure, and housing development.
