Grants Pass, Oregon-On Sunday, April 13, 2025, at approximately 3:00 p.m., Grants Pass Police officers and detectives arrested 30-year-old James Ross at the Robertson Bridge Boat Landing. Ross was lodged at the Josephine County Jail on charges of second-degree murder and unlawful use of a weapon.
Ross was wanted in connection with a homicide that occurred on March 4, 2025. At approximately 3:00 a.m. that day, a 57-year-old male was transported to Three Rivers Medical Center from the 1200 block of Rogue River Highway with serious head injuries. The victim later died from those injuries.
Due to the circumstances of the case, it was transferred to the Major Crimes Unit. Ross was identified as the suspect during the course of the investigation, but his location was initially unknown.
Grants Pass detectives conducted interviews and employed other investigative methods to locate him. The arrest was made without incident.
