Dog-of-the-Week: “Percy” the Samoyed Mix is Adoption Ready

Phoenix, Oregon- Medford Alert is featuring Percy, a 3-year-old male Samoyed mix this week. Percy is a lively and playful dog with a friendly personality, known for his ability to read other dogs’ body language and engage well with canine companions.

Percy enjoys running in the play yard and cooling off in the pool, making him a great match for an active household. He has already learned basic commands like “sit” and “shake,” and with continued training, he is expected to develop greater confidence and manners. Due to his Samoyed lineage, Percy will require regular grooming and consistent exercise to stay healthy and comfortable.

Percy tends to be head shy, so he will thrive in a calm and patient environment where his new owner takes the time to build trust. His compatibility with cats is unknown, but the shelter recommends a meet-and-greet with any resident dogs before adoption.

In an effort to help more pets find homes, the Jackson County Animal Shelter is offering a 50% discount on all regular-priced adoption fees from Tuesday, March 18, through Sunday, March 23. Additionally, dogs who have been in the shelter for 75 to 99 days will have adoption fees reduced to $75, and fees will be waived entirely for dogs who have been in the shelter for 100 days or more. Licensing fees for Jackson County residents will still apply.
