Oregon Man Facing Federal Charges for Attacks on Tesla Dealership

Salem, Oregon– A Salem man appeared in federal court today after being charged with possessing Molotov cocktails while attempting to destroy property at an Oregon car dealership.

Adam Matthew Lansky, 41, has been charged by criminal complaint with illegally possessing an unregistered destructive device.

According to court documents, officers from the Salem Police Department responded to a report on January 20, 2025, of an individual throwing Molotov cocktails at a Tesla car dealership in Salem. On February 19, 2025, officers returned to the dealership following reports of damage caused by what appeared to be bullets fired into a building and a vehicle.

Investigators linked Lansky to both incidents. Surveillance footage from the dealership reportedly showed Lansky throwing Molotov cocktails, which struck a building and several vehicles, causing fires. Additional footage from a patrol car captured a vehicle parked near the dealership while Lansky allegedly discharged multiple firearm rounds into the property. Investigators determined the vehicle was registered to Lansky and later observed it at his residence.

Lansky was arrested Tuesday in Salem without incident. He made his initial appearance in federal court today before a U.S. Magistrate Judge, who ordered him detained pending further proceedings.

The case is being investigated by the FBI, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and the Salem Police Department. It is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Parakram Singh for the District of Oregon.
