Wind Advisory Issued for I-5 Corridor from Medford to Ashland

Medford, Oregon- The National Weather Service in Medford has issued a wind advisory for the Interstate 5 corridor from Medford southward, including the cities of Medford, Phoenix, Talent, and Ashland. The advisory is in effect from 1 a.m. to 7 a.m. PST on Wednesday.

According to the advisory, southeast winds of 25 to 35 mph are expected, with gusts reaching up to 50 mph. The NWS warns that the strong winds may blow around unsecured objects, potentially causing damage to tree limbs and resulting in scattered power outages.

Motorists traveling along Interstate 5 are advised to exercise caution, particularly those operating high-profile vehicles, as the gusty winds could create hazardous driving conditions.

The NWS recommends securing loose outdoor items and preparing for possible service interruptions.
