Suspect Arrested Following Armed Robbery at Shady Cove Restaurant

Shady Cove, Oregon– A 24-year-old man from Wisconsin is in custody following an armed robbery at a local restaurant Sunday evening. Authorities responded to the incident shortly after 5:44 p.m. when the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) received reports of a robbery at Burgers & Brews on Highway 62.

Deputies from JCSO and officers from the Eagle Point Police Department were dispatched to the scene. Law enforcement quickly identified a suspect vehicle and located it at the Shady Cove Chevron gas station at 5:55 p.m.

A brief standoff ensued, but deputies successfully apprehended the suspect without incident by 6:02 p.m. The individual, identified as Jonathan Allen Rusch of Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin, was taken into custody.

Rusch faces charges of first-degree robbery, menacing, and unlawful use of a weapon. He has been booked and lodged in the Jackson County Jail.

Authorities confirmed that the case remains under active investigation. No further information has been released at this time.
