12 Suspects Arrested in Medford Police Retail Theft Operation

Medford, Oregon- Law enforcement officers, in collaboration with Target, recently conducted a targeted retail theft enforcement operation that resulted in the arrest of 12 suspects. The initiative was supported by a grant from the Oregon Criminal Justice Commission.

The operation aimed to address ongoing retail theft issues and had a broader effect by deterring crime in surrounding businesses, according to officials. The collaborative effort not only focused on apprehending suspects but also emphasized employee protection and engagement.

“We take thefts at all levels seriously, and we understand how hard it is for employees to observe thefts daily, where no one appears to be held accountable” a spokesperson for the operation stated.

The enforcement detail underscores the importance of partnerships between law enforcement and the community in addressing retail theft. Businesses interested in participating in similar future initiatives are encouraged to contact Medford Police Lt. Don Lane at 541-774-2292.

Authorities emphasized that proactive measures like these are critical in maintaining a secure retail environment and fostering a sense of accountability for theft-related crimes.
