Threat at South Medford High School Determined Not Credible

Medford, Oregon- South Medford High School officials responded to a reported threat made by a student earlier today. Upon becoming aware of the situation, school administrators acted immediately, engaging the student involved and contacting the Medford Police Department.

A thorough investigation conducted by the Medford Police Department concluded that the threat was not credible. School officials stated that they will continue working with the student and law enforcement to determine appropriate next steps.

“The safety and security of our students and staff are our highest priorities,” the school emphasized in a statement. “We are committed to keeping our families informed with clear and accurate information.”

School operations are proceeding as usual, and no further disruptions are expected at this time.

No additional details regarding the threat were released at this time. Authorities are not expected to publicly identify the student.
