Rogue Credit Union Community Complex Celebrates First Anniversary

Medford, Oregon– The Rogue Credit Union Community Complex (Rogue X) is marking one year of service to the community. Opened on January 6, 2024, this aquatics and events center has quickly become a key venue for recreation and gatherings in Medford. Owned and operated by the City of Medford, Rogue X continues to enhance local quality of life.

Milestones in the First Year

Rogue X has seen significant engagement in its first year, welcoming:

• 106,442 Open Swim visitors

• 18,271 drop-in sports participants

These numbers reflect the community’s enthusiasm for the facility’s amenities and programs.

To celebrate its anniversary, Rogue X will host a birthday event on Saturday, January 11, from 5 to 7 PM, open to the public with standard admission fees.

Facility Features

Rogue X offers a diverse range of amenities, including:

• A 76,000-square-foot event center

• Indoor recreation and competition pools, featuring two water slides and a 13-lane lap pool

• Classrooms, meeting spaces, and seasonal outdoor splashpad

• A food truck pod and ample parking

The complex is situated in the Howard Memorial Sports Park, a 54-acre park in west Medford. Future development of the park will include additional sports fields and a playground, aligning with the City’s vision for a robust community hub.

From Concept to Completion

The idea to combine an event center and aquatics facility originated in 2018 and received City Council approval the same year. Funding was secured in 2020, construction began in 2022, and the facility opened in January 2024.

The project was supported by a $2.145 million naming-rights agreement with Rogue Credit Union. This partnership has helped manage operational costs while supporting programs such as water safety lessons for all fourth-grade students in the Medford School District.

Community Impact

Beyond recreation, Rogue X supports local youth through initiatives like the Play Everyday Scholarship Fund, which provides swim lessons and recreational opportunities to underserved children in Medford.
