Three-Alarm Fire in NW Medford Activates Rogue Valley Task Force

Medford, Oregon- On Monday evening, just before 5 PM, the Medford Fire Department responded to a fire at the Roseburg Forest Products facility in northwest Medford. The fire originated in the press house of the facility.

Due to the complex construction of the building, the fire escalated to a third alarm, requiring additional resources to manage the situation effectively. The RV1 Strike Team was activated to bring in engines from Josephine County, ensuring that adequate staffing was maintained in Jackson County for other potential emergencies.

The fire has been determined to be accidental, though the specific cause remains under investigation, with facility staff cooperating fully.

Multiple agencies assisted in the response, including Emergency Communications of Southern Oregon (ECSO 911), Jacksonville Fire Department, Jackson County Fire District No. 5, Rural Metro Fire – Josephine County, Applegate Valley Fire District, Grants Pass Fire, and Illinois Valley Fire District.
