Search Warrant Executed in Talent for Child Exploitation Investigation

Talent, Oregon- The Southern Oregon Child Exploitation Team (SOCET) executed a search warrant this morning in response to images of child exploitation uploaded from an apartment in Talent, Oregon. The investigation began following a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

The warrant was served at approximately 7 a.m. at an apartment complex located in the 500 block of Talent Avenue. SOCET’s investigation led to subpoenas and subsequently to this search warrant. Detectives are currently interviewing potential witnesses and involved parties as part of the ongoing investigation.

The Talent Police Department and Jackson County District Attorney’s Office supported SOCET in executing the warrant. Additional assistance was provided by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO), Medford Police Department (MPD), and Southern Oregon High Tech Crimes Task Force (SOHTCTF). Investigators have seized digital devices from the apartment for forensic examination by SOHTCTF to uncover further evidence of child exploitation.

SOCET, established in June 2020, is a joint inter-agency task force aimed at combating child exploitation. It includes investigators from JCSO and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), alongside local, state, and federal prosecutors in Jackson and Josephine County. SOHTCTF, another joint task force, comprises investigators from JCSO, HSI, Oregon State Police, and MPD.
