1300+ Without Power in Rogue River and Grants Pass Areas as Temps Top 110 Degrees

Rogue River, Oregon- A power outage in the Rogue River, Merlin, and Grants Pass areas have resulted in traffic signal failures, prompting authorities to advise caution and patience from motorists. 

With signals rendered dark, drivers are reminded to treat intersections as four-way stops until power is restored. 

The outage, affecting approximately 1358 customers as of noon, has led to potential delays in the affected regions. The outage was first reported shortly after 3:00p today.

Authorities urge residents to exercise caution and adhere to traffic safety guidelines until normal operations resume.

Pacific Power has crews on scene investigating the outage. Estimated time for full service restoration is 8:00p for the Rogue River outage today. Pacific Power is still assessing the Josephine County outages and has no current estimate for power restoration

As of 5:00p today, the temperature is 110 degrees in Rogue River. The closest Jackson County cooling shelter is open until 8:00p tonight and is located at 332 West 6th Street in downtown Medford. Josephine County has a cooling shelter available until 8:00p and is located at 218 Redwood Highway in Grants Pass.
