Medford, Oregon- After a month-long investigation, Jackson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) Special Victims Unit (SVU) detectives arrested a 20-year-old Medford man today on multiple counts of sex abuse involving an underage victim. Detectives suspect there may be additional local victims who have yet to come forward.
The suspect, Brayden Cyrus Edelman, was apprehended at 11:30 a.m. in Medford. Edelman faces charges of one count of first-degree sex abuse and two counts of second-degree sex abuse. He has been booked and lodged in the Jackson County Jail.
The JCSO investigation into Edelman began in mid-May. Although Edelman resides in Medford, the alleged crimes took place in White City. SVU detectives believe there may be other victims and urge anyone with information about the suspect to contact SVU Detective Jill Wenzel at (541) 770-8928.
The case remains under investigation as SVU detectives pursue additional leads.
All suspects are believed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law
